What are the pros and cons of renting a vacation home vs a hotel or resort?

Renting a vacation rental home gives you
privacy, space, unique amenities and a fully
equipped kitchen. Cook all of your meals and
save money. Never have to share a swimming
pool or hot tub with strangers. Rent a larger
home and vacation with close friends and
family. Even have a small private wedding on
the beach with a reception back at the house.
The biggest drawback to a vacation rental is
that you usually have to rent them for an
entire week instead of a long weekend or a
night. A vacation home will not have that
same unique amenities of a hotel or resort.
There will be no one there to make dining
recommendations, give you directions, or
clean up after you. However, a vacation home
will almost definitely be more spacious, and
most likely be a better value for your dollar.
