Vacation Rentals in Florida

By Caitlin Moore

The gentle waves, ample sunshine, and theme park adventures of Florida have a way of beckoning to travelers from all parts of the world. If the siren song has reached your ears, then you are probably ready to start figuring out the details of your fun-filled escape to this prime vacation destination.

As a place that hosts a number of visitors, Florida offers many wonderful lodging options. In particular, vacation rentals are a good choice because they are versatile, they accommodate to many different needs, and they can be found in all parts of the state. From beach houses to condos, there is surely an exciting and appropriate property for you and your traveling companions.

For families with children, it is likely that Disney World is on the itinerary as part of a trip to the sunshine state. Luckily, there are a number of vacation rentals near the Orlando airport and the park itself, so a visit with Mickey and Minnie will be made as hassle-free as possible. Choosing to stay in a condo that is located a mere 1.5 miles from the gates of the ultimate amusement park, and also has amenities such as a kitchen, home-theatre system, and washer and dryer, will seem like the smartest decision you ever made after a long day of roller coasters and warm Florida weather.

In such a location, you'll also be close to other area attractions, like Universal Studios and Sea World. And, about an hour away, you'll find even more activities at Busch Gardens, the Kennedy Space Center, and the simple, always entertaining beach. All in all, basing your vacation out of a comfortable, well-equipped, and conveniently located vacation home will be the perfect set-up for all that your family hopes to see and do in Florida.

For a more grown-up trip, there are plenty of great spots to unpack your bags while still enjoying the amenities of home. Perhaps you and your partner have always wanted to visit Key West but want to avoid the typical South Florida experience. A quirky, Bermuda-style cottage in Old Town Key West will satisfy your craving for originality, and you'll still only be steps away from the beach. With the shops and nightlife of Duval Street just two blocks away, you can fill your day with quality activities without worrying about taxi cabs or rental cars.

As far as the cottage itself, you'll be treated to a fully-equipped kitchen, shelves of books and movies, and a gas grill out back for cooking up your own romantic dinner for two. A day of cycling or wind-surfing might leave your muscles feeling achy, so don't forget that there's a massage therapist nearby. You never thought that a South Florida experience could be this private or personalized, but now your perspective has been forever changed.

Florida is a popular choice for family reunions, so check into a vacation home that is large enough to hold the entire family. Properties can be found that will comfortably house several generations of uncles, cousins, and grandparents, and with nearby diversions and plenty of beds and bathrooms, you won't have to worry about feeling too cramped.

Because of all the possible choices, it might be difficult to settle on a place to stay once you've decided to head to Florida. For a few intriguing options, check out HomeAway.com for a wide selection of Florida Vacation Rentals. No matter where you end up, you're in for a treat.
